INTRODUCING THE COLOURSTART PASSPORT : By carefully answering a simple set of questions, Colourstart Passport can help you decide if Colourstart is suitable for you to use. Your answers may also help you make an informed decision on whether you should avoid hair colour. Colourstart Passport stores the answers to your questions and also any pictures you have taken of your test result.
This can be helpful to share with your hairdresser, beauty therapist or barber for future reference to avoid potentially unnecessary retesting. Colourstart Passport can be shared with any participating hair professional.
What will Colourstart Passport tell me?
Once you have completed the questions in Colourstart Passport you will get one of three answers:
01 Go ahead! You can colour your hair now, without needing to use Colourstart.
02 Hang on! Colourstart is suitable to use before colouring your hair.
03 Think again! You may not be suitable for Colourstart or hair colour. If you are unsure about what to do, you may wish to consult a pharmacist or doctor.
What questions will I be asked?
1. Are you age 16 years or older?
2. Are you pregnant or breast feeding?
3. Do you suspect or know you are allergic to PPD or hair colorant or previously experienced an allergy to hair colorant?
4. Do you have a black henna tattoo or have you had an allergy to a black henna tattoo in the past?
5. Do you have redness, swelling or itchy skin (active dermatitis)?
7. Are you taking oral or topical steroids or other immunosuppressant medicines?
Before your next colour appointment you’ll be sent an invitation by text or email to create a colourstart passport.
Once you’re given the go ahead by registering and answering the 6 simple questions just share your results with us using the drop down list to find Kalikose Hair Design and we’ll send you a colour start skin test to apply.
There will be a serial number on your skin test which you’ll need to include on your colour start passport and also a picture of the skin test once it’s applied.
Each time you have your hair coloured you’ll need to complete the questionnaire again to check your circumstances haven’t changed and if they haven’t, no need for a skin test!
There will be a one off payment of £15 to set up your Colourstart Passport, you’ll then have £5 taken off the cost of your next service.
